CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Attrieon Sherill went before Judge David Klein Wednesday requesting his ankle monitor be removed for work purposes.
Sherill is one of the three murder suspects in the shooting death of 20-year-old Alexis Gonzalez in February 2023.
The judge granted Sherill permission to remove his ankle monitor.
3NEWS spoke with Alexis Gonzales' mother, Celina Pena, after the decision was made.
"I look over my shoulder all the time, now I'm gonna be looking over my shoulder even more," Pena said. "His is the second one that doesn't have an ankle monitor and is gonna be walking the streets freely."
At this time there is no court date set for trial.
