CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — District Court Judge Missy Medary was sworn in Wednesday morning for another 4-year term as the presiding judge for the eleven-county region.
The 319th District Court Judge David Stith had the honor of taking her oath.
Medary has been the presiding judge for the 5th Administrative Judicial Region since 2015 with Governor Abbott reappointing her to the position yesterday.
She was holding court on a medical malpractice suit, but eventually took a quick break to once again accept the role.
Medary will continue to be one of 11 judges around the state who oversee courts all the way down to the municipal court level.
