CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Kingsville nonprofit, 'Weavers of Love' is back open and ready to serve the community.
On Tuesday organization officials returned to their mission of combating hunger and food insecurity in the community by providing nutritious meals to those in need.
With kitchen renovations just finished, they're open just in time for the holiday season!
Executive Director Andy Patrick told 3NEWS how the community gets involved to help beat hunger.
"The community is really involved we have a lot of donations from private individuals, area businesses, and we've had a lot of support from the community leaders, elected officials as well to really make this happen."
He said the kitchen had a great turn out on Tuesday where plates were filled with turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing and all your typical thanksgiving meal fixings -- right down to a slice of pumpkin pie!
Weavers of Love's doors normally open for community members to come in and eat lunch on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. They are located 720 East Lee Avenue.
