CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —
The La Palmera along with long-time partners 'K-Space Contemporary' unveiled the shopping mall's largest mural to date today.
Through the 'K Space Contemporary' Senior Outreach Program, La Palmera has 80 artists to thank for the beautiful piece of art.
The ‘K Space Contemporary’ takes workshops out to area senior recreation centers around town, where pieces of the mural are painted by the residents from the comfort of their homes!
It is a way for everyone to be able to participate.
Executive Director for ‘K Space Contemporary’ Michelle Smythe explained the process of how the mural came to be.
"It's kind of a real thin fabric so once you paint it it's like a fabric reinforced sheet of paint and then it's sort of wall papered up so that enables us to take the mural panels out to the senior centers and paint them indoors,” said Smythe.
The new 150-feet mural is named “From Our Generation to Yours”.
