CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As the city prepares for the annual Conquer the Coast bike ride on Sept. 21 organizers note that this will be the last race over the original Harbor Bridge.
Conquer the Coast is welcome to cyclists of all ages and will start at Whataburger Field, bright and early at 7 a.m.
There will be three race distances: 66 miles, 21 miles and the shortest being just 10 miles.
President and CEO of the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Al Arreola encourages everyone to keep making preparations for the annual bike ride.
"The ascent on the bridge is something pretty iconic that not many races have," Arreola said. "And a 66-mile race here in the region is pretty tough, but it's a beautiful ride along the coast. It's very scenic, it's very unique and it's something we're very proud to bring to the region."
