CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Students and staff excitedly gathered at Luther Jones Elementary School on Thursday for the ribbon cutting and reveal of their remodeled library.
The elementary school on Lipes Boulevard was built in 1990 and 3NEWS was told, this was the first renovation they have ever had!
The upgrades have completely transformed the library with new flooring, furniture and over 800 books!
Librarian Rae Gomez said the remodeling process was kept under wraps from the students for over a year!
"I really wanted them to get the total grand effect of the grand opening," she said. "I felt like seeing bits and pieces of it along the way wouldn't have the same experience that they are having tonight."
It's a great new space for those students to pick up a book and dive into a whole other world.
