CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Mathis water boil has been lifted as of Saturday. Residents no longer need to boil water before consumption or use.
Below is the story before the water boil was lifted.
The Coastal Bend Food Bank is set to distribute cases of water to the public in light of a water-boil notice issued for Mathis residents and water customers on Wednesday.
The distribution will take place at the Public Works Building at 205 N. Nueces at 11 a.m. The limit is 2 cases per car.
Officials first posted an advisory to the city's Facebook page ion Wednesday afternoon, stating the move was made because lower-than-normal disinfectant levels were detected in the water, and that lab samples are being tested.
The boil notice was made effective immediately, and the post states that the public will be made aware once the order has been cancelled.
