HEBBRONVILLE, Texas —
Many gathered for a special exhibit of ‘El Rancho Randado’ in Hebbronville.
The event commemorated the inclusion of the Jim Hogg County old jail museum in the ‘Tom Lee Trail of Texas’ which is officially designated by the State of Texas.
They also featured the first book by the artist and writer with a title of the same name of the ranch, ‘Randado’, where he visited in 1940.
“He was very interested in history and he wrote about various places in Texas, New Mexico and Northern Mexico, but his writing career started here at this ranch in the southern part of our county,” Museum Foundation of Hebbronville President, Charlotte Hellen said.
The event also served as a celebration for the completion of the museum to reopen, which has been in the works for 40 years.
The doors are now open for the community to explore the halls filled with exhibits telling the history of Jim Hogg County.
