CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A large-scale oyster restoration project in Texas was just awarded $8.2M by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The effort is headed by Texas Parks and Wildlife along with the Coastal Bend Bays and Texas A&M's Harte Research Institute.
The project aims to restore heavily degraded oyster reefs over the next four years. Parks and Wildlife says the effort is one of the largest of its kind in the state.
