CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Nueces County Jail corrections officer is recovering from an incident involving an inmate last Friday at the McKenzie Annex facility near the Corpus Christi Airport.
Sheriff J.C. Hooper told 3NEWS that inmate Noel Villarreal hit the officer, causing a cut to his head. The correctional officer needed stitches, but is expected to recover.
Villareal is expected to face additional charges for the attack.
