CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Students volunteered their time, and some their animals, for what has become a popular Nueces County Junior Livestock Show tradition: the All-Star Show.
This popular event lets children with special needs and disabilities show an animal at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown with the help of the animal’s owner.
“This has grown to over 60 exhibitors registered this year,” said advisor Mary Fox. “We've had over 140 volunteers, countless sponsors that I can't even name, but it’s amazing how big it’s gotten.”
The All-Stars get the chance to “show” goats, giving them a chance to see if they would like to full commit to entering an animal of their own in upcoming shows.
The stands were packed with family members and friends cheering on participants.
The NCJLS has held the All-Star show for the last six years.
