CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Conquer the Coast bike ride this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The bike ride is for cyclists of all ages. There's a 10 mile route for families and less experienced riders, a 21 mile route and a 66 mile ride for the most experienced cyclists. All routes take you along the Ocean Drive for a scenic ride along the Corpus Christi Bay.
The President and CEO of United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, Al Arreola Jr. caught up with 3NEWS ahead of the big day and spoke to viewers about the preparation that goes into planning an event as big as Conquer the Coast.
Over 1,300 cyclists are currently registered for Saturday's event, with over 80% of them coming from out of town. Arreola Jr., says he's excited for people to experience Corpus Christi and give back to the city's local small business and restaurants.
If you're interested in participating in the ride, it's not too late to sign up. You can register here.
