SINTON, Texas — Coastal Bend school districts are gearing up for the big first day back to school, and that includes the Sinton Independent School District.
On Monday, Sinton ISD celebrated their convocation ceremony at the new high school campus, with a whole lot of pep and even more school spirit.
Superintendent Dr. Andy Reddock and other district leaders gathered all staff from across Sinton ISD campuses to celebrate returning educators, announce all new department hires, give status updates on various projects and more.
"It's important that we have a good kickoff so we can get everyone fired up for Sinton, America. To get ready to get rolling in the next week or so for our kids when they come back on campus," Reddock said.
"Every year, we try to look at what we can do as a district to get better - and what we're wanting to do is go into the new year and - here's so many good things that are happening within the district, it's just time to see what we can do to always continuously step up," Reddock said.
Staff also had the opportunity to walk around the new Sinton High School campus. Construction is still underway, but teachers were welcomed back last Friday to begin getting their classrooms prepared for the first day of school, on August 14th.
3News Anchor and Sinton alum, Leslie Adami, served as the keynote speaker at Monday's convocation.
