CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — When it comes to responding to any sort of emergency, preparation is key.
That's why The Port of Corpus Christi partnered up with local emergency planning committees to test out response plans out at Gulf Coast Growth Venture's Petro Chemical Complex in Gregory.
Collaboration was the main focus of the training to make sure first responders are prepared for any incident and putting their practice into action.
"Beyond that, our communication plans extend out to the community whether it is the use of our Code Red Emergency Notification and in the case of Nueces County where Reverse Alert will be used as well. So, lots of communication plans that are being tested and so far we are really happy with what we are seeing," said John Hale supervisor for security, safety and emergency preparedness.
They perform this training annually and look forward to accomplishing their next large-scale exercise to continue to enhance regional emergency preparedness.
