CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Repairs are underway to what looked like a possible sinkhole spotted Thursday on South Staples Street near Baldwin Boulevard.
City of Corpus Christi officials said Friday that emergency utility repairs are underway to a wastewater manhole.
The broken repair conduit will require fixes which include temporary pumping and pavement restoration.
The center lane and inside lanes in both directions on South Staples Street, from Louisiana Avenue to 16th Street, will be closed in order to make the repair, which is expected to be done Monday.
City officials have blocked the area around the hole to prevent drivers from going over it, but if you do have to drive in that area exercise caution.
