CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Purple Door of South Texas received a record 1,300 teddy bears donated during the American Bank Holiday Drive.
American Bank partners with the Purple Door of South Texas and Judge Timothy McCoy's office to offer these teddy bears to children who have suffered from neglect or abuse.
Judge McCoy said this small act of kindness provides comfort, and when the children receive their teddy bear, their faces immediately light up.
"Many times these kids come into foster care with nothing, with the clothes on their back, and, you know, having something to hold on to and take with them all throughout the process really makes a big difference," McCoy said.
