CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As city of Corpus Christi officials continue to stress water conservation in midst of the drought, a reminder that the public can purchase rain barrels from Corpus Christi City Hall to help.
They cost $47 dollars, and all you have to do to get one is go to central cashiering at City Hall and pay and then take the receipt to the city's warehouse building 6 on Civitan Drive during designated hours.
The warehouse is open 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m.
The barrels hold 55 gallons of water and are 34 inches tall by 24 inches wide.
You can buy barrels Monday-Friday, and anyone who gets their water from Corpus Christi Water, the Nueces County Water Control District No. 4, the San Patricio Municipal Water District, the South Texas Water Authority or the Violet Water Corporation are eligible to buy rain barrels from the city of Corpus Christi.
