CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Travel before and after severe weather events is all too familiar for the team at R.E.A.L. Inc. who provide public transport to 9 counties in our area.
Most recently, they aided community members in Aransas County needing assistance as Beryl approached the coast.
The transportation service picked up residents from their homes to take them to the airport so they could evacuate ahead of the storm. Including those with disabilities who needed ADA accessible transportation.
Mobility Services Manager Pamela Garza said securing and getting residents out of harms way was top priority.
"When they returned from Laredo we picked up the passengers and took them home," she said, "The last passenger that we dropped off at her home was so happy to see her home intact and not flooded. She was yelling "Hallelujah! Thanks to God!"
