CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi city council is working to look after our environment.
Elected leaders voted to approve an amendment agreement with Corpus Christi Renewables to capture landfill gas at the JC Elliott transfer station.
The gas will be sent to the CC Renewables processing facility at the Cefé Valenzuela landfill where it will be turned into renewable natural gas.
The group is paying the city $1.8 million dollars to install and maintain that transmission line.
The agreement is expected to save the city more than $200 thousand dollars in maintenance costs.
