CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A beloved Corpus Christi Police Department K-9 has died, per the Corpus Christi Police Department Facebook page.
The department's Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Facebook page shared the news of the retired animal Monday night. She was 14.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news of one of our favorite K9s," the post reads. "Tanja served seven years before retiring in 2020 to live a very spoiled life with her handler. "
Tanja was eventually handed over to live with Senior Officer Chris Lynch and his wife, Melissa.
