CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Hundreds of local parents went out to collect presents from the Salvation Army Angel Tree distribution on Tuesday.
For many of these families this event was a Christmas miracle, as some are not able to afford gifts for their children this year.
3NEWS spoke to mother Isdarely Garcia who cried tears of joy as she expressed her gratitude for the community's support.
"The feeling is special," she said, "It's so, I don't even know how to describe it. It's just like you're just happy that they're happy. That they're satisfied, that they're not being left out of the holiday, even after everything we've been through as a family you know? You just feel so much joy, gratefulness that they got to experience Christmas."
Garcia said she couldn't feel more blessed to those who donated gifts for her kids.
