CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A major accident off of South Staples Street and Barry Street happened on Saturday afternoon and left a motorcyclist in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to CCPD, the accident happened after a motorcyclist ran a red light while traveling westbound on Staples Street and struck a vehicle.
The vehicle stayed on the scene and the motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital.
Traffic investigators were called out to the scene to assist the police.
Witnesses said that the motorcycle driver was traveling recklessly and ran several traffic lights before the accident happened.
