CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi Police Department officer was waived down by a pair of witnesses early Wednesday morning near Water's Edge Park. The reason? They said a man had been stabbed just before 4:15 a.m.
The 47-year-old victim has been reported to now be in stable condition after he was critical condition Wednesday morning.
Police and medics found him in the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Park Avenue. The stabbing is said to have happened closer to the water, appearing to have resulted from a robbery--- the victim's bike apparently missing from the scene.
There were reports of a second stabbing at Cole Park, but when police arrived to investigate, they found nothing.
The victim is believed to be homeless.
