CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi leaders gathered at the American Bank Center on Thursday for the annual State of the City address.
Mayor Paulette Guajardo reviewed all of the improvements the Coastal Bend has seen throughout the year, including the opening of the new police training academy at Del Mar College.
The mayor also spoke on one of "the greatest challenges" in the city -- our streets.
"Our city's greatest challenge is fixing our city streets because many years ago, our streets were neglected, leaving us today with what seems like endless street repairs that must be tackled," she told attendees during the address. "Our number one focus is making certain that our streets are repaired, and our city crews are working hard every day to help achieve this goal."
So far, the City has spent $101 million fixing streets around the town, according to Guajardo.
