TAMU-CC hosting 'Out of Darkness' campus walk to prevent suicide Saturday

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. The goal of the walk is to increase awareness about prevention efforts on campus.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The American Foundation For Suicide Prevention will host a walk to stop suicide at TAMU-CC Saturday morning.

'Out of Darkness' will take place on Nile at the Island University. This is the organization's signature student fundraising series --designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, which is a leading cause of death.

The route will be one-mile through campus --but walkers will be asked to walk the route twice. On-site registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
