CCPD went to Angelique Court to break up a party and a teen ended up dead. Here's what happened.

The arrest report for Leandro Leon, who was released from jail Saturday, describes that night in October when a teen shot into a car and was then killed by police.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — One of the men arrested following the deadly police shooting back in October was released from custody over the weekend.

Leandro Leon, 18, was bonded out Saturday morning. He faces three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the shooting on Masterson Drive, where a Corpus Christi Police Department officer shot and killed 17-year-old RJ Fuentes.

The shooting happened after Corpus Christi Police Department officers were called to the 6200 block of Angelique Court for noise complaints at a house party.

Dozens of people attended the open-invitation birthday party, and after police broke it up, they can be seen walking away from Angelique Court on a video a homeowner provided to 3NEWS. It's from a security camera facing Masterson Drive and shows the shooting taking place.

An arrest affidavit for Leandro Leon requested by 3NEWS on Monday gives police perspective as to what happened the night of the shooting.

It states that after police responded to the party, a "male subject" in a black hoodie approached a black Cadillac and shot into the vehicle. The video 3NEWS obtained seemed to corroborate this. CCPD's affidavit then says it saw a "second male wearing a gray hoodie" and that he was armed and "appeared to be firing" at the Cadillac.

An officer directing traffic at the scene saw the first male shoot into the vehicle and fired his weapon. The male in the black hoodie then fell into the street. He was later identified as Fuentes.

The affidavit then states that the officer continued firing in the direction of the person in the gray hoodie and "he dips down like he is hit and continues limping down the sidewalk as he ran."

The affidavit does not say that any CCPD officers were hurt. It also does not describe any shots being fired at officers.

The Cadillac was found on Saratoga Boulevard on a road behind the Corpus Christi Natatorium and the Cabaniss baseball fields with "at least 6 bullet holes located on the outside of the vehicle going into the vehicle."

The report then says that a woman told police "Leo" called her, telling her he and her brother had been shot.

The next day, police were called to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital - Shoreline at 2:10 p.m. for a walk-in shooting suspect. It was there they met Leon, who had been shot "to the outside of his left knee."

He told police he had been shot at La Armada at around 7 a.m. or 8 a.m.

Police then made contact with Leon's grandmother, who said Leon called her at about 10:30 p.m. or 11 p.m. telling her he had been shot at a party. She said he was crying as he told her his friend RJ had been shot, and that he didn't know whether he was alive.

The police then went to Leon's grandmother's home, where she gave them the clothes he was wearing the night of the shooting. That included Leon's bloody pants but not a gray hoodie.

CCPD has not identified the officer involved in the shooting. In October, CCPD said they were doing that for the officer's safety. In January, CCPD said it would still not release the officer's name as the officer was also a victim and that the department does "not release victim information, whether they are an officer or not."
