Texas State Aquarium expects to treat more cold-stunned turtles as more freezing weather approaches

So far they are rehabilitating 315 green sea turtles affected by from this week's weather.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Following the cold snap that hit the Coastal Bend, more than 315 green sea turtles have been rescued with more still expected as winter settles in.

Most of these cold-stunned turtles brought into the Texas State Aquarium Wildlife Rescue were recovered by boat.

That's because many of the areas where they are found are not accessible by foot.

The team continues to give the turtle’s health checks as they arrive, and once conditions improve, they’ll return them to their original habitat.
