CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Sheriff's Office shared tips for residents who may find themselves running into questionable content on social media.
Scammers have been targeting users posing as government officials offering free services.
The government will never reach out to you over social media asking for personal or financial information.
If you aren't sure who is contacting you check the website! Official government websites will always use 'dot gov.'
Be sure to report anything suspicious as you could keep someone else from falling for it.
