CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The North Ocean Drive gate will remain closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 25 and 26 due to storm debris on the roadway following Tropical Storm Alberto.
The Naval Air Station Corpus Christi announced the extended closure just before 1 p.m. on Monday after traffic near the South gate got backed up. All traffic entering or exiting the base will use the Main/South gate during this time.
Per the City of Corpus Christi Public Works Department:
“The storm debris on Ocean Drive is expected to be cleared by Wednesday (June 26) allowing the North Gate to return to its normal operating hours on Thursday (June 27). Once the road is reopened, please drive with caution as last week’s storm damaged some edges of the pavement. Please be considerate as construction crews work to repair the road over the coming weeks. Further information will be disseminated as updates are received from the City.”
