Tropical Strom Francine causes minor coastal flooding in the along the Coastal Bend

We are continuing to track coastal impacts of Tropical Storm Francine.

PADRE ISLAND, Texas — While Tropical Storm Francine is currently forecasted to land on Louisiana's coast, effects of the storm can still be felt on our Texas Coast.

3NEWS was out Tuesday morning to scope out the minor coastal flooding under and around the JFK Causeway.

As of Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service reports that the hazards for the area include up to three feet of inundation on our beaches, high rip current risk, strong offshore winds and up to 13 feet of offshore high seas.

For the most up to date weather information, it's a good time to remind our 3NEWS viewers to download our free app that's available both on the Apple app store and Google Play.
