CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Students in Rockport got a chance to learn about all things aviation education this morning from the War Birds of South Texas themselves.
Friday's event was exclusive for local school districts, private schools and home school groups.
3NEWS caught up with the Executive Director of Warbirds Aviation Cody Stewart also known as, "Caveman" in the aviation world.
He tells us this year they added education to the mix of their annual event in hopes students consider it as a career.
"There's so many career options in the Coastal Bend for aviation. Whether that be pilot training, learning to be an airport mechanic through Del Mar, air traffic control, FFA inspector, running your local airport, there's so many opportunities young people don't know about and we're trying to expose them to those," said Stewart.
The Warbirds over South Texas event will be happening Saturday at the Aransas County Airport, there will be free parking and free admission.
