CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department issued a traffic alert at the intersection of Water and Born Street Sunday morning.
Several underground water lines reportedly broke in the downtown area before officers arrived and closed off the surrounding streets. Police are asking residents to avoid the area and said this morning that there was not yet an ETA for repairs.
CCPD did not say if the water line breaks were related to the recent cold snap of below-freezing temperatures last week.
The Water Department was also on scene.
