CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The educational and recreational youth center, Westside Helping Hand, raised money with its Spring Festival fundraiser Friday in effort to continue to shape future young leaders from the west side of Corpus Christi.
The organization offers tutoring and mentoring services, as well as transportation from school and meals every day at zero cost to the parents.
Executive Director Cindy Davila said that the work is extremely rewarding, but they need some help to continue serving the community.
"It's an amazing feeling to be able to make an impact in a child's life and even in the life of the whole family, so we're here to guide and support our families 100%, but we also need the support as well," Davila said.
The youth center holds fundraisers twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, they invite the community to become involved in their mission.
