CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The man killed after being hit while walking on Hwy. 358 Monday afternoon near Leopard Street was identified Tuesday afternoon.
Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office staff said the man was 35-year-old Eric Cano.
Officers responded to an accident involving a pedestrian on Highway 358 southbound at Leopard around 4:10 p.m.
The 35-year-old man was crossing the freeway when he was hit by a truck, said Corpus Christi Police Department Sr. Public Information Ofc. Travis Pace.
The driver stayed on scene and, according to Pace, does not have charges at this time.
Traffic was diverted from Interstate 37 southbound after the accident, but was cleared by 7 p.m. Monday night.
