CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — One man is in custody after an attempted robbery ended in a shooting at the A1 Sneaker House at 5522 Everhart Road, the Corpus Christi Police Department said.
John Perez was found at a business in the shopping center, Corpus Christi Police Department officers said Monday, and was arrested after police went over security video and interviewed witnesses.
The 21-year-old is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as well as manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug.
Officers were called to the scene just after 6:30 p.m. and determined that two men attempted to steal from A1 Sneaker House. Police said on their way out, they were shot.
The two injured men ran across the street to Coventry Lane, where neighbors then called 911.
The two men were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and one man is now in custody for the shooting CCPD said. Police continue to investigate.
