CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Authorities tell 3NEWS that a car has been impounded after its driver and passengers fled from them, fired a gun in the air and crashed the vehicle on Ayers Street near an elementary school overnight Monday.
Corpus Christi Police Department officers attempted to stop a brown passenger vehicle on Ayers and Bonita Street at 12:01 a.m. The vehicle evaded and continued to travel along Ayers Street.
That's when one of the passengers in the car fired a gun in the air just before the driver crashed the car near Brownlee Boulevard, causing all of the occupants from the car to flee on foot.
Officers searched for the vehicle occupants, but none were located, and the vehicle was impounded.
No injuries were reported.
