CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Class is in session for Corpus Christi Police Department's 84th police academy, and Tuesday's unit was all about traffic direction!
A total of 28 cadets were posted at the corners of Weber and South Staples intersection and the Doddridge and South Alameda intersection Tuesday morning.
It's part of their 34-week training program as they learn what it takes to be a police officer.
Even during their eighth of classes, the weight of their duty isn't lost on them.
"Intersections are dangerous no matter how many people are here," one cadet told 3NEWS. "There's people that aren't paying attention, causing traffic violations, it's a lot of experience to see how people behave when you're directing traffic."
