CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A special ceremony took place Friday afternoon to honor 31 members who have retired from the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Those years combined totals over 742-years of service from officers and civilian employees!
The ceremony held at New Life Church in Flour Bluff honored retirees from 2022 up to today.
3NEWS caught up with a couple of those starting this new chapter of their life.
"Probably stay here in the Coast," former officer Robby Rodriguez said. "My wife keeps me real busy — she's retired from Department of Homeland Security — she's a copper artist, so we do a lot of galleries, travel all over, she keeps me really busy still."
"I'm happy I came out healthy and still have time to enjoy life and I'm just enjoying it right now," former officer Doralee Dlabaja said.
Dlabaja said she plans to spend her time gardening and in the mountains.
From all of us here at 3NEWS thank you for your many years of service to the citizens of Corpus Christi!
