A 600-mile journey to honor officers killed while serving their communities will be making a stop here in Corpus Christi.
The Texas Brotherhood Ride is made up of law enforcement and firefighters suiting up to cycle through several states.
While in Texas, the cyclists will go by the Corpus Christi Police Department to honor Sr. Ofc. Vicente Ortiz Jr. and Ofc. Kyle Hicks, who were both killed while serving in the line of duty.
Hicks was shot and killed while working a disturbance call in April – he was the first CCPD officer to be shot and killed in the line of duty since 1987.
More than a month later, Ortiz died 10 days after sustaining injuries while working a funeral procession.
