CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the City of Portland!
Over at the Portland Community Center, 24 unique Christmas trees decorated by various local businesses and organizations are on display for a Christmas Tree Forest contest.
You can vote for your top three favorite trees, during Community Center hours, up until Dec. 12!
This year's Christmas Tree Forest contest is in partnership with 'Christmas for Kids Year Round.'
Once judging for the "best tree" is over, they'll be boxed up complete with decorations and given to families in need within San Patricio County.
"I remember as a little kid we've had a Christmas tree forest many many years ago, I'm from here, and so we're coming back to having a Christmas tree forest," Parks and Recreation Director Kristin Connor said. "I think the biggest deal is, there are families that wouldn't have a tree without this program and we're making a difference where we live and that's important to us."
Aside from the trees ones on display, there will be 38 trees given out.
