CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend Food Bank has a brand new refrigerated truck thanks to a partnership between The Darden Restaurants, Inc. Foundation and Penske.
The truck is valued at over $200,000 and can carry up to eight pallets of food and will be used to expand upon the food bank's Senior Food Box Program.
Executive director Bea Hanson and Penske Coastal Bend branch manager Mike Bettinazzi spoke with First Edition ahead of the food bank's Senior Homecoming Celebration.
The community is invited to join the Coastal Bend Food Bank and its partners as they unveil the Senior Food Box Program’s Mobile Truck to the public on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 2:30 p.m.
