U.S. Rep. Colin Allred brings his campaign to the Coastal Bend

The Democratic candidate vying for Ted Cruz's seat spoke with the community about his plans for Senate.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Congressman Colin Allred made a stop in the Coastal Bend on Wednesday, while on his campaign trail. He was eager to connect with the South Texas community and get area voters excited ahead of the election.

The Democratic leader visited the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures & Education Center to speak to the community about his plans for the Senate seat he hopes to swipe from Ted Cruz.

They'll be facing off on the ballot come November and Allred is hoping to round up as many voters as possible to head to the polls and make their voices heard.

"Our marching orders are to make sure that we turn out the folks who vote here in Nueces County and across South Texas," Allred said. "Our marching order is to make sure that we get our fellow Texans involved."

Allred says he feels that beating Senator Cruz wouldn't be a win for the party or himself, rather that it would be a win for the State of Texas and democracy.
