Constable Bill Hack's family announces funeral services

The Pct. 1 constable died Tuesday after suffering a stroke on the job in early July. He is survived by his wife Angela & three sons Christopher, Nicholas and Billy.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Kleberg County Constable Bill Hack died on Monday night after more than a month of battling to be released from ICU care, his son confirmed to 3NEWS on Thursday. 

Funeral services for the beloved constable will take place next week at the St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Kingsville. 

Law Enforcement, city and county officials will join together to mourn the Pct. 1 law enforcement officer on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 12-3 p.m.

A public visitation will follow from 5-9 p.m., with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. followed by a last call/honors. 

Hack is survived by his wife Angela and three sons Christopher, Nicholas and Billy. Also, his seven grandchildren and three sisters, Karen, Tammy and Debbie. He is also proceeded in death by his parents Linda and Frank Hack and his brother Frank.

The constable suffered a serious stroke in early July while preparing crews to respond to the expected impact of Hurricane Beryl. 

The Kleberg County Sheriff's Office said the father of three dedicated his life to serving the young children and elderly people of Kleberg County for nearly 8 years as Constable and in his other roles at the county. 

"Throughout his time in office, Constable Hack exemplified what it means to serve with kindness and dedication. He was a champion for the children of our community, providing school supplies, jackets, clothing, and shoes to schools across the county, often from his own pocket," they said in a Facebook post.

"Constable Hack also extended his generosity and compassion to our elderly community members, providing them with essential supplies such as wheelchairs, fans, mobility scooters, and more. His commitment to helping those in need has left a lasting impact on Kleberg County."

"His dedication, generosity, and unwavering commitment to our community will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Constable Hack. You will be missed."
