CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi mother has beaten the odds during her pregnancy --and is looking to host a blood drive to help others.
Jessica Reyes developed a condition causing her placenta to grow into surrounding organs which put her at risk for blood loss.
Her experience prompted her to want to organize a blood drive.
It will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church next Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Donors will receive a free shirt, meal and raffle entry.
