CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — You might be seeing a new mobile workstation from the Corpus Christi Police Department around town.
That's because the department unveiled their new community engagement vehicle on Wednesday morning, saying the can will be a crucial feature at various community-wide events like Buc Days, Beach to Bay, 4th of July celebrations, Neighborhood Night Out, and many others.
CCPD says the new unit is a testament to their mission to enhance the safety and effectiveness of the police department.
The vehicle-- a large mobile van--- will increase officers' presence in the field and serve as a tool for community interaction by address concerns and offering assistance directly.
The funds to purchase the workstation were raised by the Corpus Christi Police Foundation.
“We are immensely grateful to our community partners for their unwavering support,” said Cissy Garcia, Executive Director of the Corpus Christi Police Foundation. “This new vehicle will not only enhance the capabilities of our police department but also strengthen the bond between our officers and the community they serve.
