Man in his 60's hit by empty car in strange crash at American Bank Center

Police said the man was trying to stop an unoccupied moving vehicle from hitting parked cars on private property at the American Bank Center.
OVG360 says they are still in the middle of negotiations with several firms interested in the naming rights, according to City Manager Zanoni.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 64-year-old man was taken to a local hospital Monday night after a being hit by an unoccupied moving car, per CCPD. 

Officers say they were dispatched to the 1900 block of N. Shoreline Boulevard around 9:18 p.m. for a call regarding an accident on private property at the American Bank Center. 

An investigation determined that the man was trying to stop the moving vehicle from hitting a row of parked cars before he was injured. CCPD has not yet determined how the car's transmission activated, causing the accident. 

The vehicle was in reverse at the time of the incident, and police said it hit a CCPD patrol unit along with another vehicle.
