CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi International Airport hopes "resolve" its air-conditioning system failure by the weekend, city officials said Wednesday afternoon.
Staff members said the malfunction was caused by a broken pipe feeding the system.
Massive fans are currently set up and portable air conditioners were brought in and placed around the terminal Wednesday.
"We believe we have a leak in a water line," said CCIA Chief of Public Safety John Hyland. "Shifting soil, rains and then it's droughting, so that's kinda what we're dealing with, but the situation is stable in the building, and so we're got a temporary solution until we can make permanent repairs."
An airport employee told 3NEWS the AC went out on Tuesday, that it could take 2-3 weeks to fix, but city officials said later in the day that they aim to have the problem fixed sooner.
