The 24-year-old killed in the shooting has been identified as Edward Loredo.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Update: Nueces County Medical Examiners have identified the 24-year-old killed as Edward Loredo.

Below is the story before Loredo was identified.

A 24-year-old man was found dead after an argument with another man lead to a shooting at the Driftwood Apartments on Devon Drive, according to Corpus Christi Police Department.

On Saturday afternoon, 20-year-old Saniel Sanchez Jr., was served with a murder warrant at Nueces County Jail where he is being held for an unrelated warrant. Sr. Ofc. Jennifer Collier told 3NEWS that the bond is set at $1,000,000.

Collier said that officers were called to scene around 4:19 p.m. on Friday for a shooting with injuries.

When first responders arrived they found a 24-year-old man dead with a gunshot wound.

Collier said initial investigation revealed that the victim and another man got into an argument then the suspect shot the victim.

Investigators do not believe that this was a random act of violence and that the two men knew each other.

Detectives with the Robbery and Homicide Unit are still investigating this incident.

'This is getting to a point where it's getting scarier'

Residents at the Driftwood Apartments were left shaken Friday after a 24-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound after a confrontation at the complex.

Norma Pena, a housekeeper for the apartment complex, said this is not the first time a violent incident has happened there.

"This is getting to a point where it's getting scarier," she said.

Pena said she was sitting outside when she heard the gunshots.

"I turned around and called 911 and gave them the description and everything," she said. "You could hear them arguing up there, 'look what you did, look what you did.' "

The housekeeper said she worries for her safety and other residents' safety.

"We have kids running around here and playing around and these people are out of control," Pena said. "Every time we call it takes them [police] hours, seven hours to come out here. And when there's a shooting or something they come out."
