CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Your next stroll downtown may be a bit more bustling than usual as three new brick-and-mortar projects were just approved to begin construction.
The businesses consist of architecture company Pfluger Architects, upscale liquor store Thunderbird Fine Wine and Spirits and a local favorite food truck-turned-restaurant 'Streat' Corner by Loli's.
Executive Director for Corpus Christi Downtown Management Alyssa Barrera Mason said developing locally-owned businesses is a priority.
"We're really targeting and focusing on developing our local entrepreneurs and helping giving them an opportunity to have a place to showcase their talents because that's what makes Corpus Christi unique and interesting," she said. "So it's really important that we continue do this to revitalize downtown, to create a strong local economy and create a good quality of life for our residents."
Each storefront project will consist of interior and exterior renovations. They are expected to be completed by late next year.
