CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 29-year-old man was arrested overnight Thursday after CCPD officers attempted a traffic stop that lead them on a chase near McArdle and Everhart Road.
Police said Michael Anthony Rivera crashed into a residential fence at the intersection of Merrimac Street and McArdle Road after fleeing from police just after 1 a.m.
Several police units attempted to stop the driver before he reportedly lost control and hit the fence
Officers took the driver into custody after finding him in a nearby backyard. CCPD told 3NEWS that a passenger in the vehicle ran from the scene and was not found.
Rivera was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, evading arrest in a vehicle, and two outstanding warrants.
No injuries were reported.
